Whistleblowing Policy for EPA
PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to encourage and enable members and other stakeholders to report unethical, illegal, or improper conduct without fear of retaliation. This policy outlines the process for making a disclosure and ensures that concerns are handled fairly and appropriately.
SCOPE
This policy applies to all members, contractors, volunteers, and stakeholders of EPA. It covers all aspects of the organization's operations and any concerns related to:
- Financial malpractice or fraud
- Breach of legal obligations
- Health and safety risks
- Environmental damage
- Discrimination, harassment, or bullying
- Any other unethical behavior
RESPONSIBILITY
All members and stakeholders have a responsibility to report concerns in good faith. EPA is committed to protecting whistleblowers and ensuring a transparent culture where concerns can be raised without fear of victimization.
REPORTING CHANNELS
Whistleblowers can report their concerns through the following channels:

Reports can be made anonymously if preferred.
INVESTIGATION PROCESS
- Acknowledgement: Reports will be acknowledged within five business days.
- Assessment: An initial assessment will determine if further investigation is required.
- Investigation: A thorough and impartial investigation will be conducted.
- Outcome: Findings will be communicated to the whistleblower if contact details are provided. Corrective actions will be taken if necessary.
PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
EPA ensures the confidentiality of whistleblowers and prohibits retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith. Any attempt to retaliate or victimise a whistleblower will result in disciplinary action.
FALSE ALLEGATIONS
EPA takes all reports seriously; however, deliberate false reporting will be subject to disciplinary procedures.
REVIEW AND MONOTORING
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with current legal and ethical standards.
